Drawing on 8 decades of know-how, this IWC Schaffhausen Pilot’s watch Mark XVIII model pays homage to traditional watchmaking skills and French author and pilot, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s story “The Little Prince”. The tool watch measures 40mm in diameter. Its stainless steel case is chosen for its robust, anti corrosive properties as well as its ability to keep a meticulously crafted in house movement safe from external damage. The Calibre 35111 powers a set of luminous coated hands around the watchmaker’s signature midnight blue dial. The colour is used on the displays of IWC Schaffhausen’s “Le Petit Prince” edition watches.

On the reverse of the watch’s 60 meter water resistant case is an image of the Little Prince, complete with his sword and cape. It illustrates the most famous work written by the French flying pioneer. In addition to a useful 42 hour power reserve, the movement also provides hacking seconds and a date feature which can be referenced at 3 o’clock underneath a protective sheet of anti reflective sapphire crystal glass. The IWC Schaffhausen Pilot’s Watch Mark XVIII Edition “Le Petit Prince” model is completed on a supple brown calfskin strap with white contrast stitching and a steel buckle engraved with the watchmaker’s initials.
