Limited to just 388 timepieces worldwide, British watchmaker, Bremont has collaborated with the Hawking family to pay tribute to one of the world’s most famous legendary theoretical physicists in its 10th limited edition design. The 41mm stainless steel Trip Tick® case construction is 100 meter water resistant and features a piece of meteorite integrated into its caseback to symbolise the cosmos. The formation of stars as they appeared in the night sky above Oxford on the birth of Professor Stephen Hawking in 1942, is hand decorated into the surface of the steel caseback. Paying tribute to the professor’s theories and written work, the limited edition number of the watch is stamped onto an original piece of paper extracted from Hawking’s co written seminal research piece on “The ‘nuts’ and ‘bolts’ of Gravity”. Also inlaid into the case are four pieces of an antique desk inherited by Hawking from his late grandmother, founder of Yorkshire’s Boroughbridge girl’s school.

The limited edition Bremont Hawking steel watch features a black hole swirl-effect dial with a retrograde small second indicator at 6 o’clock and a legible grand date at 12 o’clock. The modified calibre 11 1/2’’’ BE 33 AE is suspended inside the heart of the case, providing a 42 hour power reserve. The watch’s matte black dial with spiral etching is inspired by Hawking’s theories on black holes and features Super LumiNova coated hands and hour markers crafted from polished nickel. The steel Bremont Hawking limited edition watch is completed on a classic black alligator leather strap with traditional steel pin buckle.
