Bell & Ross continue their legacy of producing aviation and military watches with the Bell & Ross BR 03 92 Red Radar Ceramic Limited Edition. Inspired by radars used by flight controllers, the design boasts a reduced 42 millimetre case engineered entirely from matte black ceramic, amaterial renowned for its lightweight and scratch resistant properties. The case is then paired with a choice of two straps, the first is a classic black rubber strap secured by a black PVD coated pin buckle and the second an ultra-resilient black fabric strap with Velcro closing. Protected by a water resistant rating of 100 metres, the Bell & Ross Red Radar watch houses the BR-CAL.302 automatic winding calibre which guarantees a power reserve of 42 hours and delivers a unique display for hours, minutes and seconds.
The centrepiece to the Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Red Radar Ceramic Limited Edition is the dial which has been designed to reproduce the scanning motion of the light beam on a radar screen. The display is composed of two concentric discs. The external disc displays the hours while the inner showcases the minutes, both presented by screen-printed planes adorned above the dial which give the illusion of real flight. At the centre, a continuous hand displays the seconds. The dial of the 999 piece limited edition is then topped by red tinted sapphire crystal glass treated with anti-reflective coating. The glass is also decorated on the underside with the hour and minute scales, a choice made for better durability against impacts and abrasions.
